Westminster School is Corporate Conversation’s longest-standing client – our very first client from 1994.
Since then we continue to enjoy a strong and positive relationship with the school and remain closely involved with Westminster’s internal marketing team.
Based in Marion, Westminster is one of Adelaide’s leading independent, coeducational schools for students in Early Learning to Year 12.
The school also offers coeducational boarding facilities, with boarding available for boys and girls in Years 7 to 12.
Corporate Conversation has provided a wide range of public relations, media and communications for Westminster and its broader school community for more than 20 years.
This has covered everything from positive promotion through to media liaison, issues and crisis management and media training.

Corporate Conversation has provided media training to Westminster’s key leadership staff to help them respond to media quickly and effectively.
Through a regular and proactive program of activity and media liaison, Corporate Conversation has helped to build valuable and positive links between Westminster and key South Australian media.
As a result of this, the school is considered a reliable source of content for key journalists and regularly achieves positive media coverage in print, digital and TV.
However, like any school, the occasional issue or crisis may arise.
A kayaking incident involving Westminster School students in 2007 attracted widespread media attention. Students on a kayaking expedition were rescued by emergency services after weather conditions deteriorated rapidly and some kayaks capsized.
Corporate Conversation worked closely with the school’s senior management team over the following weeks, executing a well-planned and proactive crisis communications plan that helped Westminster to minimise negative media coverage.
We supported and worked closely with Westminster from the time the incident unfolded to its conclusion, ensuring media had ready access to information and key spokespeople. We also assisted in initiating an independent review and coordinating the release of those results.
This incident required a carefully managed and executed approach by Corporate Conversation. As a result, media coverage of the event was fair, considered and balanced.
Comments from Miranda Starke, former Director of Development, Westminster School:
“We were Corporate Conversation’s first client and we’re still working with them decades later. They’re just an amazing extension to our communications team. They always provide us with expert, considered, professional advice.”
